Fun beach Wedding at the Bahia Sternwheelers at Bahia Resort Hotel

Updated: May 18, 2020

I absolutely love creating fun weddings and this was one of them. I started working with Lucy a year and half before her wedding, and I was absolutely blown away with her beauty, kindness and fun personality. Their wedding was held at Bahia Sternwheeler, and they were actually sailing for over 2 hours. Nobody will ever forget that beautiful sunset view from the top deck while cruising around San Diego Bay, which is absolutely the most romantic atmosphere and fun time they could have planned.

I always ask my brides,”What is the most important part of your wedding for you?” I ask this so that I can help them to make their day the most memorable. For some brides it is the ceremony, for some their grand entrance, or first dance etc. So, I’ll break down each part of this wedding.

As you know, the ceremony is a beautiful moment showing a bride and groom's most special commitment. Some brides feel really nervous while walking down the aisle, which is understandable because at that moment you are the center of attention. From guests lining the aisle to your husband-tobe waiting for you at the altar, everyone will see you for the first time in your wedding dress. This is why I always recommend having a first look. It is good way to eliminate the anxiety you might be feeling about walking down the aisle and gives you a special shared moment privately.

Another plus to having a first look, is that you will be able to attend your cocktail hour, or just take a few minutes for yourself. As you can see, Lucy's wedding ceremony was absolutely magnificent. I loved their beach look, and since they did a first look, they had time to relax and be together after the ceremony.

Lucy's grand entrance was so much fun. They entered the ceremony while their favorite song played and then led all their guests to the front of the boat to do a group picture. I just love their group picture. It was great way to start the reception and entertain dinner guests with not only delicious food, but some fun during the table games that were offered too. Games during dinner kept the fun atmosphere floating, and guests enjoyed some bonding moments as a family.

The after dinner was all about the party. First dance, Mother and son dance, and finally the father and daughter dance which opened up the dance floor and then everyone was just enjoying time on the dance floor.

Having a wedding on boat is an original and fun venue to host your wedding. Everyone has a great time.
